Justine Bassani's Artist Biography
Justine was born and raised in Connecticut.
At age ten when her watercolor painting was chosen from her entire grade five class to be
displayed at the state capitol building in Hartford she knew art was her passion.
Winning many awards through high school for her artistic achievements fueled her desire to create things of beauty.
She graduated high school at age sixteen, skipping her junior year, with a year of college art class
credits under her belt, as she attended university night classes after school.
Parsons School of Design (the New School) in Manhattan hosted her studies until Justine transferred
to The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Formally trained in design and fine art Justine began doing large scale custom murals in
private homes and offices in Fairfield county, from children's play rooms and nurseries
to doctor's office waiting rooms.
Justine is now releasing to the public a new series of paintings, with pending dates for
art openings from Connecticut to Manhattan. Justine calls her style of painting for this
series "stylized realism", although one of her strong points as an artist is her ability to
adapt her style of painting to the subject or mood as needed.
When Ms. Bassani is asked what inspires her to paint she says, "I love to see the look in a
person's eye when they feel the emotion that I felt when I created the painting.
The subtle complexity of my art engulfing the viewers mind long enough to create an
emotion them is the most gratifying feeling I have ever felt. I want my art to be
emotionally moving. I want to hold my audience long enough to catch them in a moment
where they are captive to my painting."
